A Palestinian-run poll in Judea-Samaria and the Gaza Strip shows 80 percent of respondents in the disputed territories support the lone-wolf violence that has ravaged Israeli communities, including stabbings, shootings and vehicle strikes.

The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, directed by Khalil Shikaki, also found that more than half of the respondents of the December 3–6 poll approve of a new intifada (armed uprising) against Israel and say they would vote for Hamas if an election were held today. (PCPSR)
Support for Hamas implies support for the complete destruction of Israel, since the organization’s founding charter states in Article 28 that “Israel, by virtue of its being Jewish and of having a Jewish population, defies Islam and the Muslims.” (TheJerusalemFund)
The poll suggests that an “overwhelming majority” of Palestinian Authority Arabs “support launching of rockets from the Gaza Strip” at Israel.
Of 1270 respondents, 56 percent said they believe Israel intends to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in order to erect a Jewish temple, while only 6 percent stated believing Israel intends to maintain its position on the Temple Mount.
Four Jewish me visiting the Temple Mount are protected by Israeli security officers, since violence against Jews easily erupts in crowds of Muslim worshipers on the Mount.
Over the last couple months, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized his commitment to the status quo that allows Jews to visit the Temple Mount but not to pray there as a gesture for peace with the Israeli-appointed Jordanian administrators of the holy site.
“There is an unequivocal statement by the Israeli government since 1967 that there is no intention to change the status quo,” states Police Inspector General Yohanan Danino in a Jerusalem Post article from Nov. 25, 2014.
The PCPSR poll respondents also showed 70 percent believe “the chances for establishing a Palestinian state next to an Israeli state in the next five years are slim or non-existent.”
