Last week, the one-year-old granddaughter of Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, who has been calling for a third Palestinian intifada (civil uprising) in Judea and Samaria, was sent to Israel to receive care at Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petah Tikva.
Amal arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
The young girl was suffering from a severe gastro-intestinal disorder that had impacted her nervous system, according to doctors in Gaza. (Al Ahram)
Earlier in the week, the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) received a request by the Palestinian Authority office in the Gaza Strip asking that the child be immediately admitted into an Israeli hospital for care.
Sadly, the hospital was unable to help her, and she was returned to Gaza clinically dead. (Times of Israel)
At the time of her admission her father Abd al-Salam Haniyeh posted on his Facebook page: “Amal has crossed the Green Line (border with Israel) now, and I call on God to grant her health.” The post was subsequently removed. (JPost)
