Jerusalem: Patterns of Peace Plans

Overlooking Jerusalem.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  “May those who love you be secure.”  (Psalm 122:6)

Who is going to own Jerusalem:  the Jews or the Palestinians?

King Solomon had a similar predicament when he had to judge between two women who each claimed that a baby was theirs (1 Kings 3:16-28).

The judgement of Solomon (c. 1620), by Gaspar de Crayer

Today almost every nation is weighing in on their judgement as to who should have the rights to Jerusalem or how it should be divided up between the Jews and the Palestinians.

As end-time events shape up, we are to look at Israel and especially Jerusalem as God’s time clock.

And, from God’s perspective, that is perhaps the most critical issue being discussed behind closed doors as President Trump and his negotiation team listen to key groups and leaders about a possible peace plan.

The details of any plan are being held under tight wraps until after the Israeli presidential election on April 9.

We know that Arab leaders will oppose any deal that does not include East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

And Israel has in the past opposed peace plans that would give East Jerusalem to the Palestinians because Jerusalem is the Biblical Promised Jewish City starting with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and ending with the Jewish Messiah coming to this Holy City.

Jerusalem is mentioned about 800 times in the Bible, 660 times in the Tanakh (Old Testament) alone.  In Psalm 48:1, King David calls it “the city of our God.”

Trump’s negotiating team have been charged with a truly difficult task: making peace in the Middle East with Israel in it.  And they likely do understand how critical Jerusalem is to the God of Israel, since Trump’s son-in-law and top negotiator Jared Kushner as well as his Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt are observant orthodox Jews.

This is an issue that all Christians of all denominations need to be praying for, as we read in God’s Word that keeping Jerusalem intact is a seriously sacred matter that will result in grave judgment for the nations of the world who divide the land:

“I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.  There I will put them on trial for what they did to My inheritance, My people Israel, because they scattered My people among the nations and divided up My land.”  (Joel 3:2)

The sad reality is that the land of Israel is already somewhat divided.

The Palestinian Authority has administrative control over Judea and Samaria, the heartland of Biblical Israel.  However, Israel still has sovereign control over the region.

Incredibly, some Muslim voices, such as Sheikh Ahmad Adwan, a Jordanian scholar who visited Israel in 2013 understands that God has given the land to the Jewish People and not to the Arabs.

He has said that “Jordan is, in fact, Palestine, but Allah has promised the Land to the Children of Israel until the final Day of Judgment.”  (Israel Today)

As you can imagine, his opinion did not hold up well with Muslims, and Sheikh Ahmad of Jordan’s prominent Adwan tribe cannot be found on the web since he made this statement in 2014.

Still, a minority of Muslims to this day support the Jewish state of Israel because they understand from the Koran that God gave the “Holy Land” to “The People of the Book” as an inheritance, such as in Sura 5:20–21 and Sura 26:59.

In fact, it seemed the vast majority of Arabs had no interest in the Biblical land of Israel or even Jerusalem for that matter until the Jewish Zionist movement began in the late 1800s.

Only since 1948, when the Jewish People established Israel as their own nation, have the Arabs denied that the land of Israel belongs to the Jews.

They even go as far as to deny that a First and Second Temple ever existed on the Temple Mount.  Many deny that the Holocaust took place, and some even claim that Jesus / Yeshua was an Arab Palestinian.

On May 15, 1948, the day after Israel declared independence, its neighboring Arab countries:  Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq invaded the new Jewish State.

Since then, the grand plan of the Arab people has been the total destruction of the Biblical Jewish state and the establishment of One Arab Palestinian State — from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

Hamas (the governing terror group in Gaza) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2012, displaying a map of Palestine covering all of Israel along with their signature rocket, the qassam.

This goal is in line with the prophecy of Psalm 83, which says, “With cunning they conspire against your people;  they plot against those you cherish.  ‘Come,’ they say, ‘let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.’”  (verses 3–4)

If the State of Palestine were to acquire East Jerusalem as its capital, would it welcome all faiths, all nationalities, all religions, including Israelis and Jews to visit its holy sites?

If Arabs had their way, the answer is a resounding no.

Mahmoud Abbas, who is the president of the Palestinian Authority today and during past peace talks has emphatically stated:

“We have frankly said, and always will say: If there is an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, we won’t agree to the presence of one Israeli [Jew] in it.”  (JPost)

If the Palestinian State gets sovereign control over East Jerusalem, we can also be sure that they will not protect any archaeological evidence that links the land to Bible or the Jewish People.  Any evidence will be promptly destroyed.

In 1999, the Palestinian Authority bulldozed 9,000 tons of dirt from the Temple Mount and threw it into the Kidron Valley without any archaeological oversight. Since 2005, thousands of volunteers for the Temple Mount Sifting Project have been recovering artifacts from the debris.  (Sifting Project YouTube capture)

US Special Representative, Jason Greenblatt says that accepting and following through on any peace plan “is up to the Israelis and the Palestinians;  they’re the ones who will have to live with the consequences of the plan.”  (JTA)

But this is not entirely correct.

Since the inception of the United States, it has lived under God’s blessing because it was established on Judeo-Christian principles from the Bible.

Any attempt to divide Israel and especially Jerusalem disturbs a sacred bond between God and His People through the Covenant that He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, along with other Promises in His Word (the Holy Scriptures).

And that disturbance seems to be related to some incredible “coincidences” in the past several decades.

It is normal for natural disasters to take place each year.  However, when we find a pattern of extreme destruction occurring on the same day or within a few days of a significant US peace plan intervention, we must take notice and seek discernment from God.

Here are a handful of such events that have been verified as true and accurate:

March 22, 1979:  The US does not veto anti-Israel resolution 446 at the UN and four days later on March 26, 1979, Israel signs a Peace Treaty with Egypt giving up the Sinai where many Israeli Jews live.

Then, just two days later, on March 28, 1979:  Three Mile Island nuclear power plant meltdown is the worst nuclear disaster in US history.

October 30-November 1, 1991:  President George Bush opens The Madrid Conference to revive “peace talks” based on Israel giving away part of its Biblical Land for peace.  This laid the foundation for the Oslo Accords in 1993, which gave administrative control to the Palestinian Authority.

October 30, 1991:  On the first day of the Madrid Conference, “The Perfect Storm” hits US eastern shores.  Three-story waves flood President George Bush’s vacation home in Southern Maine, causing heavy damage, reports the New York Times.

Bush said,  “The damage was rather devastating.”  A local writer said he saw several waves almost as tall as the large house smash against it.

Extremely high waves.

August 24 1992:  Hurricane Andrew hits Florida, leaving 180,000 homeless and causes $30 billion in damage!  At the same time Israeli and Arab delegates are arriving in Washington for the peace talks!

August 24, 1992:  The same day in Washington the Madrid Peace talks resume in the US capital, Washington DC.  Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, as a willing partner, agrees with US demands to give up land to the Palestinians, including the Golan Heights.

Three years later at an open-air rally in Tel Aviv’s main square, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was murdered after giving a speech about making peace with the Arabs, with representatives from the governments of Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco in attendance,

Rabin was shot and killed by an Orthodox Jew who was opposed to breaking God’s Covenant with Abraham regarding The Land He promised to the descendants of Jacob (Israel).

January 16, 1994:  US President Bill Clinton meets with the president of Syria, Hafez el-Assad, in Geneva to discuss a peace agreement that includes giving up all or part of the Golan Heights.

January 17, 1994:  The Northridge earthquake (6.7 on the Richter scale) hits Southern California causing 57 deaths, up to $20 billion in damage, and more than $40 billion in economic loss, the costliest earthquake in US history.  (US Dept. of Conservation)

January 21, 1998:  President Clinton refuses to have lunch with Netanyahu at the White House.

January 21, 1998:   The same day, a sex scandal involving President Clinton and his intern is breaking news.

—————

The blue regions on this map of the Gaza Strip were Israeli communities that Israel evacuated in 2005 in a goodwill gesture of peace. Since then, the terror group Hamas has built hundreds of terror tunnels and launched thousands of rocket attacks into Israel from Gaza.

May 3, 1999:  Seventy-four tornadoes touch down across Kansas and Oklahoma in less than 21 hours, leaving 46 dead and $1.5 billion in damage.  (Noaa)

May 4, 1999:  For many months, this was the date that the Palestinian Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat had promised would be the day that he was going to declare an official Palestinian State, as it was the day the Oslo Accords were set to expire.  Arafat postpones it amid international pressure.

Rabin was killed 4 years earlier and with Netanyahu in power, Arafat decides to declare a Palestinian State.

August 15–September 1, 2005:  Israel permanently evacuates all Israeli residents from Gaza and gives this “Israeli” land to the Palestinians in exchange for peace.

August 23–31, 2005:  Hurricane Katrina hits Florida first and then Louisiana and Mississippi.  By August 30, New Orleans is 80% underwater! Over 1,800 people died with millions left homeless and over $100 billion in damage.  It is the most destructive and costliest storm in US history.  (livescience)

May 19, 2011:  Barack Obama declares that Israel must give up land, returning to the pre-1967 borders.  (Telegraph)

May 22, 2011:  An unusually strong EF-5 multiple-vortex tornado moves through Joplin, Missouri killing 158 people.  (Wikipedia)

August 24, 2017:  Jared Kushner meets with Netanyahu in Israel to officially embark on a renewed peace process.  (JTA)

August 24, 2017:  The same day, tropical storm Harvey intensifies to a category 4 hurricane.  Over the next 7 days, it causes $125 billion in damage and over 200 deaths, not only in the US but also the Caribbean islands and Latin America.  Along with Hurricane Katrina, it is the costliest on record for the US.

It would seem from this pattern that God is trying to send a message to those working on a peace plan to give away Israeli land — “Stop.  It is not your land to give away!”

And then President Trump did the most extraordinary thing.

Trump visits Western Wall, May 22, 2017

In May 2017, President Trump becomes the first US president to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

On May 14, 2018, President Trump moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the first nation to do so, solidifying his declaration that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel.

Since this day, the Palestinian leadership has refused to speak to Trump’s peace plan team.

Meanwhile, the US has experienced incredible prosperity with stock market highs and high rates of employment.

Natural disasters in the United States, which are also normal occurrences have continued.  Maybe some happened on days when key decisions were being made behind closed doors. We may never know.

It will be no surprise if a large natural disaster takes place on or around the date when the US reveals or tries to execute its peace plan if it includes giving away any of the Land of Israel or dividing Jerusalem, the Holy City, the city that God calls His own.

Men praying at Wailing Wall

This US peace plan will be unveiled sometime after Israel’s presidential election on April 9.

Please pray that Jared Kushner, Jason Greenblatt, and President Trump hear from God and obey His leading to keep Jerusalem and Israel undivided.  And if Israel does become divided, please pray for God’s mercy on all involved.

For, as God has said:

“Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.”  (Deuteronomy 27:17; also 19:14)

He also says, that those who curse Israel will be cursed, but those who bless Israel will be blessed.  (Numbers 24:9)
